Overview

UI127 is an incrementally modified drug (IMD) candidate developed by Korea United Pharm for the treatment of dyslipidemia. It is a fixed-dose triple combination (FDC) comprising rosuvastatin, ezetimibe, and fenofibrate. Rosuvastatin acts as an HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor to lower LDL cholesterol, ezetimibe inhibits the intestinal absorption of cholesterol by targeting the NPC1L1 transporter, and fenofibrate serves as a PPAR-alpha agonist to reduce triglyceride levels and increase HDL cholesterol. This triple-action approach is designed to provide comprehensive lipid management in patients with mixed dyslipidemia who require multiple agents for optimal control. As of early 2024, the candidate has entered Phase 1 clinical development in South Korea.
