Overview
RotaTeq + DTP-IPV refers to the concomitant administration of Merck Sharp & Dohme's pentavalent rotavirus vaccine (RotaTeq) and the combination vaccine for diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, and inactivated poliovirus (DTP-IPV). RotaTeq is a live, oral vaccine containing five human-bovine reassortant rotavirus strains (G1, G2, G3, G4, and P1A[8]) used to prevent rotavirus gastroenteritis in infants. DTP-IPV is a standard pediatric vaccine protecting against four major childhood diseases. The combination is typically evaluated in clinical trials to ensure that the immune response to each vaccine component remains robust when administered simultaneously, thereby facilitating more efficient vaccination schedules for infants.
