ROTAVIN-M1

ROTAVIN-M1 is a live attenuated, oral rotavirus vaccine developed from a human G1P[8] (KH0118) strain. It is designed to prevent rotavirus gastroenteritis in infants and young children. The vaccine works by stimulating the immune system to produce antibodies against rotavirus, thereby providing protection against infection. Clinical studies have demonstrated that ROTAVIN-M1 is safe and immunogenic in Vietnamese infants, with effectiveness comparable to other internationally available rotavirus vaccines such as RotaTeq and Rotarix. The vaccine has been shown to reduce hospitalizations due to moderate-to-severe rotavirus diarrhea among vaccinated children and offers protection across multiple circulating genotypes. It requires frozen storage at -20°C, which presents some logistical challenges for distribution in low-resource settings[2][3][6][8][9].
