Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Rotavirus vaccine, live, oral, pentavalent** is a live human-bovine reassortant rotavirus vaccine marketed as **RotaTeq**. It contains five live reassortant rotaviruses based on the attenuated bovine WC3 strain background and expressing human rotavirus surface antigens representing G1, G2, G3, G4, and P1A[8] types. Administered orally as a three-dose infant series, it induces active immunity against rotavirus and is approved to prevent rotavirus gastroenteritis caused by G1, G2, G3, G4, and G9 rotavirus types in infants aged 6 to 32 weeks.
