Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ROV045 is a proprietary transdermal delivery system (TDS) formulation of rotigotine, a non-ergoline dopamine agonist, developed by XPhyto Therapeutics through its subsidiary Vektor Pharma TF. The drug is designed as a once-daily patch for the treatment of Parkinson's disease and restless legs syndrome (RLS). It utilizes a specialized platform technology to deliver rotigotine continuously through the skin over a 24-hour period. Preclinical in-vitro and ex-vivo studies have demonstrated that ROV045 possesses dissolution and absorption profiles comparable to the reference listed drug, Neupro. As of late 2022, the formulation was positioned for entry into human clinical trials to establish bioequivalence.
