Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Standardized allergen extracts developed by Roxall Medicina España S.A. for the diagnosis of hypersensitivity via skin prick testing. The extracts include Artemisia vulgaris (mugwort), Platanus acerifolia (plane tree), and Dermatophagoides farinae (house dust mite). These biologics are standardized using the Histamine Equivalent Potency (HEP) method to ensure that 1 SPT unit per ml elicits a skin wheal equivalent to 10 mg/ml of histamine dihydrochloride. This standardization is critical for achieving consistent potency and safety in clinical allergy diagnostics and for calibrating in-house reference preparations for immunotherapy.
