RoxVac

RoxVac is a polyvalent bacterial vaccine developed by Roxall Medicina España, designed for use as an immunotherapy to prevent recurrent respiratory tract infections (RTI) and, in certain formulations, urinary tract infections (UTI). Although Roxall is primarily recognized for its extensive portfolio in allergen immunotherapy (AIT), the RoxVac product line specifically comprises bacterial preparations rather than allergen extracts. It typically contains a mixture of inactivated bacterial species commonly associated with secondary infections, such as *Streptococcus pneumoniae*, *Haemophilus influenzae*, *Staphylococcus aureus*, *Klebsiella pneumoniae*, *Moraxella catarrhalis*, and *Streptococcus pyogenes*. By presenting these bacterial antigens to the mucosal or systemic immune system, RoxVac aims to stimulate innate and adaptive immune responses, primarily through the activation of pattern recognition receptors like Toll-like receptors (TLRs). This immunostimulatory effect helps reduce the frequency and severity of recurrent infections in susceptible patients. RoxVac is available in various forms, including sublingual (RoxVac S) and injectable (RoxVac I) formulations.
