Overview

Rozanolixizumab is a humanized monoclonal antibody that targets the neonatal Fc receptor (FcRn). It is used for the treatment of generalized myasthenia gravis (gMG) in adults who are positive for anti-acetylcholine receptor (AChR) or anti-muscle-specific tyrosine kinase (MuSK) antibodies. By binding to FcRn, rozanolixizumab blocks the recycling and rescue of immunoglobulin G (IgG), leading to a reduction in circulating pathogenic IgG autoantibodies. This mechanism helps decrease immune-mediated damage at neuromuscular junctions, improving muscle function in patients with gMG. Rozanolixizumab was developed by UCB and is marketed under the brand name Rystiggo[1][2][3][5][6][8].
