Rozo CL

Rozo CL is a fixed-dose combination oral capsule developed by Meddroid Pharmaceuticals, containing the HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor rosuvastatin and the P2Y12 receptor antagonist clopidogrel. Rosuvastatin acts by competitively inhibiting the enzyme 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl-coenzyme A reductase, which catalyzes the rate-limiting step in cholesterol biosynthesis, thereby reducing LDL cholesterol levels. Clopidogrel is a prodrug that, once metabolized, irreversibly inhibits the P2Y12 subtype of adenosine diphosphate (ADP) receptors on platelet membranes, preventing the activation of the GPIIb/IIIa receptor complex and subsequent platelet aggregation. This combination is primarily indicated for patients with hyperlipidemia who are also at risk for cardiovascular events requiring antiplatelet therapy.
