Overview
Rozrolimupab is a recombinant polyclonal antibody mixture composed of 25 fully human IgG1 monoclonal antibodies targeting the Rhesus D (RhD) antigen. It is designed as an alternative to plasma-derived anti-D immunoglobulins for the treatment of immune thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP) and for the prevention of hemolytic disease of the newborn (HDN). The drug acts primarily by immunologic blockade of Fc receptors within the reticuloendothelial system, leading to rapid increases in platelet counts in ITP patients. Rozrolimupab offers advantages over blood-derived products due to its unlimited supply and consistent specificity and activity. Developed by Symphogen, it has shown efficacy and safety in phase 2 clinical trials for ITP[1][2][4][5][6].
