Drug intelligence / Profile preview
RP-001 is a novel taxoid compound developed by Recurv Pharma as a new chemical entity (NCE) for the treatment of advanced solid tumors. It is formulated in an oil-in-water nanoemulsion designed to focus drug delivery to tumor sites while minimizing exposure to healthy organs. RP-001 is specifically engineered to target cancer stem cells, which are often responsible for tumor recurrence and resistance to standard therapies. Preclinical data have demonstrated its ability to kill multi-drug resistant tumors and work synergistically with immune checkpoint inhibitors, particularly in models of pancreatic cancer. The drug is currently in Phase 1/2a clinical development for patients with advanced malignancies, including relapsed or refractory pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma and colorectal cancer.
