Overview
RP-116 is a preclinical oncolytic virus candidate being developed by ViroCure Australia and its parent company, ViroCure Inc., for the treatment of salivary gland neoplasms. The therapy is based on a reovirus platform that exploits the activated Ras signaling pathway commonly found in cancer cells to achieve selective viral replication and subsequent cell lysis (oncolysis). In addition to direct tumor destruction, RP-116 is designed to stimulate the host's immune system to recognize and attack tumor cells, potentially providing a dual-action therapeutic effect against solid tumors.
