RP444 is a designed host defense peptide (dHDP) developed by Riptide Bioscience. As a synthetic analogue of naturally occurring host defense peptides, it is engineered to provide rapid bactericidal activity against a broad spectrum of pathogens, including *Pseudomonas aeruginosa* and *Cutibacterium acnes*, while maintaining a high safety profile with minimal cytotoxicity to human cells. RP444 is specifically designed to eradicate bacterial biofilms, which are often resistant to conventional antibiotics. Its primary therapeutic focus includes topical and ophthalmic applications for bacterial keratitis, diabetic ulcers, and topical infections, as well as the acceleration of wound and burn recovery and the management of infections in cystic fibrosis.
