Overview

RP525 is a second-generation nucleoside derivative developed by RESprotect for the treatment of cancer. It is designed to target Heat Shock Protein 27 (Hsp27), a molecular chaperone that is frequently overexpressed in various malignancies and contributes to tumor cell survival and resistance to chemotherapy. As a derivative of RP101 (brivudine), RP525 is intended to modulate Hsp27 function, thereby sensitizing cancer cells to standard treatments and preventing the development of drug resistance. The compound is currently in the preclinical stage of development.
