Overview

RP656 is a second-generation nucleoside derivative developed by RESprotect for the treatment of cancer. It is designed to target and modulate the function of Heat Shock Protein 27 (Hsp27), a molecular chaperone often overexpressed in cancer cells that contributes to treatment resistance and anti-apoptotic signaling. As a derivative of RP101 (brivudine), RP656 aims to improve upon the efficacy and pharmacological profile of its predecessor in sensitizing tumors to chemotherapy and preventing the development of resistance. It is currently in preclinical development.
