Drug intelligence / Profile preview
RP902 is a small molecule therapeutic being developed by Risen Shanghai Medical Technology (also known as Risen Pharma) for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease. The drug is designed to target Apolipoprotein E4 (APOE4), which is recognized as the most significant genetic risk factor for late-onset Alzheimer's disease. APOE4 is involved in the aggregation and reduced clearance of amyloid-beta plaques, as well as tau-mediated neurodegeneration. RP902 acts as a modulator of the APOE4 protein to potentially slow or prevent disease progression. As of the latest pipeline updates, RP902 is in the IND-enabling stage of development.
