RP912 is an investigational small interfering RNA (siRNA) therapeutic developed by Risen Biosci (Risen Pharma) in collaboration with Junshi Biosciences (TopAlliance). The drug is designed to target and silence the mRNA encoding angiopoietin-like 3 (ANGPTL3), a protein primarily synthesized in the liver that acts as a key regulator of lipid metabolism. ANGPTL3 typically inhibits lipoprotein lipase and endothelial lipase; therefore, by reducing its expression, RP912 facilitates the clearance of triglycerides and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) from the bloodstream. This therapeutic approach is intended for the treatment of metabolic diseases, specifically dyslipidemia and hypercholesterolemia. As of the current pipeline status, RP912 is in the IND-enabling stage of development.
