Drug intelligence / Profile preview
RpexBio's COVID-19 variant-targeting messenger RNA vaccine is an investigational prophylactic mRNA vaccine developed by Suzhou RpexBio Co., Ltd. The vaccine is specifically designed to target SARS-CoV-2 Omicron variants using the company's proprietary mRNA technology platform. It works by delivering synthetic messenger RNA that encodes the viral spike protein of specific Omicron lineages. Upon administration, host cells translate this mRNA into the spike protein antigen, which subsequently triggers a comprehensive immune response, including the production of neutralizing antibodies and the activation of T-cells. This candidate is currently in the IND-enabling phase of development, with regulatory filings for clinical trials anticipated to begin in 2025.
