Recombinant P-selectin glycoprotein ligand IgG fusion protein (rPSGL-Ig) is a recombinant fusion protein composed of the human P-selectin glycoprotein ligand 1 (PSGL-1) fused to the Fc region of human immunoglobulin G1. It acts as a selectin antagonist, blocking leukocyte adhesion by binding to selectins and thereby inhibiting neutrophil entry into inflamed or ischemic tissues. This mechanism reduces inflammatory responses and tissue injury, particularly in settings such as transplantation ischemia-reperfusion injury and myocardial infarction. The drug has been investigated for use in conditions including myocardial infarction, delayed graft function after organ transplantation, glomerulonephritis, anemia, red blood cell disorders, and kidney transplant surgery[1][2][4][6][8].
