RPT2 is a small molecule inhibitor of nicotinamide phosphoribosyltransferase (NAMPT) being developed by Remedy Plan Australia for the treatment of autoimmune diseases. NAMPT is the rate-limiting enzyme in the nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+) salvage pathway, which is critical for cellular energy metabolism and is often dysregulated in inflammatory and autoimmune conditions. RPT2 belongs to a proprietary class of "hyperbolic" NAMPT inhibitors designed to selectively target cells with high metabolic demand while minimizing the systemic on-target toxicities that have historically limited the clinical development of NAMPT inhibitors. By modulating cellular NAD+ levels, RPT2 aims to suppress the activity of overactive immune cells involved in disease pathogenesis. The program is currently in the IND-enabling stage of development.
