Overview

RQ-00000008 is a preclinical-stage small molecule antagonist of the prostaglandin E2 receptor subtype 4 (EP4), developed by RaQualia Pharma. It is designed to treat inflammatory conditions by blocking the signaling of prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) through the EP4 receptor, which is a key mediator in pain and inflammation pathways. The drug is being investigated for human applications in osteoarthritis and autoimmune disorders, as well as for veterinary use in treating osteoarthritis and other inflammatory conditions in animals. RQ-00000008 follows the development of other EP4 antagonists by RaQualia, such as grapiprant, and aims to provide a targeted approach to reducing inflammation and associated pain without the side effects typically linked to non-selective COX inhibitors.
