Overview

RQ-00317076 (also known as AAT-076) is a selective cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) inhibitor small molecule developed by RaQualia Pharma for the treatment of pain in both human and veterinary medicine. As a selective COX-2 inhibitor, it aims to reduce the production of pro-inflammatory prostaglandins while sparing the COX-1 enzyme, which is responsible for maintaining gastrointestinal mucosal integrity. This selectivity is intended to provide potent analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects with a lower risk of gastrointestinal side effects compared to non-selective NSAIDs. The drug has completed Phase 2a clinical trials in the United States for post-operative pain in humans and is being explored for various veterinary applications, including the management of pain and inflammation in companion animals.
