Drug intelligence / Profile preview
RQ-03 is a pan-influenza therapeutic candidate developed by Red Queen Therapeutics using its proprietary stapled lipopeptide platform. The drug functions by inhibiting viral fusion proteins, a critical and highly conserved step in the viral life cycle, thereby preventing the influenza virus from entering host cells. This mechanism of action is intended to provide broad-spectrum protection against a wide range of influenza strains and variants. Currently in the discovery and preclinical stages, RQ-03 is slated to begin IND-enabling studies in early 2025. The program's development is supported in part by a contract from the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA), highlighting its potential role in pandemic preparedness and seasonal flu management.
