RQ-04

RQ-04 is a stapled lipopeptide antiviral drug candidate being developed by Red Queen Therapeutics for the treatment of herpesvirus infections. Utilizing a platform technology licensed from the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, RQ-04 is designed to mimic the alpha-helical structures of viral proteins involved in the fusion process. By binding to viral fusion proteins, the drug acts as a fusion inhibitor, blocking the conformational changes and membrane fusion required for the virus to enter host cells. This mechanism is intended to prevent herpesviruses from infecting host cells across multiple members of the enveloped virus family. RQ-04 is currently in the discovery stage of development.
