RQ-3400 is an mRNA-based vaccine candidate being developed by RNAcure for the prevention of shingles (herpes zoster). The vaccine is designed to deliver messenger RNA encoding a specific antigen from the varicella-zoster virus (VZV), which triggers the host's immune system to produce a protective response. This approach aims to prevent the reactivation of latent VZV, which causes shingles, particularly in older adults or immunocompromised individuals. RQ-3400 is currently in the early stages of development within RNAcure's infectious disease pipeline.
