Drug intelligence / Profile preview
RQ3027 is a bivalent mRNA-based vaccine candidate developed by Walvax Biotechnology for the prevention of COVID-19. The vaccine is designed to provide broad protection against evolving SARS-CoV-2 strains by incorporating mRNA sequences that encode the spike proteins of the Alpha and Beta variants, as well as the Omicron XBB.1.5 subvariant. Utilizing lipid nanoparticle (LNP) technology for intracellular delivery, RQ3027 aims to stimulate the host immune system to produce neutralizing antibodies and elicit a robust T-cell response. It has been evaluated in clinical trials as a booster dose in healthy adults who have previously received primary COVID-19 vaccinations to address waning immunity and the emergence of new variants.
