Drug intelligence / Profile preview
RRV-IRF8 is a retroviral replicating vector (RRV) designed to deliver Interferon Regulatory Factor 8 (IRF8), a master transcription factor regulating type 1 conventional dendritic cell (cDC1) development. Developed by researchers at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), RRV-IRF8 is designed to target and reprogram proliferating immunosuppressive myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSCs) and tumor-associated macrophages within the glioblastoma (GBM) tumor immune microenvironment into functional antigen-presenting cells (APCs). This reprogramming reduces myeloid-mediated immunosuppression, enhances antigen presentation, and promotes the recruitment and activation of cytotoxic CD8+ T cells, thereby restoring anti-tumor adaptive immunity.
