Drug intelligence / Profile preview
RS-113 is an investigational, orally bioavailable small molecule inhibitor of programmed cell death ligand 1 (PD-L1) being developed by R-Pharm for the treatment of advanced solid tumors. As a checkpoint inhibitor, it functions by blocking the interaction between PD-L1 on tumor cells and the PD-1 receptor on T-cells, thereby preventing the suppression of the immune response and allowing T-cells to recognize and attack malignant cells. While most approved PD-L1 inhibitors are monoclonal antibodies administered intravenously, RS-113 represents a newer class of small molecule agents aimed at providing a more convenient oral dosing regimen and potentially improved tissue penetration. It is currently in early-stage clinical development.
