Overview

RST-111 is a small molecule modulator of the N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor, specifically targeting the GluN2D subunit. Developed by ReST Therapeutics, it is currently in preclinical development for the treatment of chronic post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The therapeutic approach focuses on correcting NMDA receptor overactivation, which is associated with neuropsychiatric dysfunction. By selectively targeting GluN2D subunits, RST-111 is designed to facilitate stress extinction and offer neuroprotective benefits in patients suffering from long-term PTSD symptoms. It is part of a broader pipeline of precision neuropsychiatry candidates that target specific NMDA receptor subunits to restore balanced neural signaling.
