Overview

RST-121 is a small molecule NMDA receptor modulator being developed by ReST Therapeutics for the treatment of Acute Stress Disorder. It is part of the company's proprietary platform focusing on precision neuropsychiatry by targeting the GluN2D subunit of the NMDAR. The drug is designed to address NMDAR overactivation, which is implicated in various neuropsychiatric diseases, and aims to facilitate stress extinction and provide neuroprotection. As of early 2024, RST-121 is in the discovery stage of development, utilizing a mechanism consistent with the company's lead candidate, RST-101, which specifically inhibits NMDAR GluN2D subunits on inhibitory interneurons.
