Overview

RSV-199 is a human monoclonal antibody developed by IDBiologics for the prevention of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) and human metapneumovirus (hMPV) infections. It is notable for its ability to potently cross-neutralize both RSV and hMPV strains by targeting antigenic site III on the viral fusion (F) protein, a region partially conserved between these viruses. The antibody features an extended heavy-chain complementarity-determining region 3 (HCDR3), enabling it to bind effectively to both pathogens. Preclinical studies have demonstrated that RSV-199 provides enhanced protection against multiple strains of RSV (A and B) as well as hMPV in animal models, highlighting its broad neutralization potential and therapeutic promise[1][2][3][5].
