Overview

The RSV-1c-SApNP vaccine is an experimental nanoparticle-based vaccine candidate developed by Uvax Bio for the prevention of Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) infection. The vaccine utilizes the proprietary 1c-SApNP (one-component self-assembling protein nanoparticle) platform, which is designed to display multiple copies of the RSV Fusion (F) protein in its stabilized prefusion conformation (PreF) on a protein scaffold. This multivalent display mimics the repetitive structure of a natural virus, which is intended to enhance B-cell activation and induce high titers of neutralizing antibodies. By targeting the prefusion form of the F protein—the primary target for neutralizing antibodies—the vaccine aims to provide robust protection against RSV. The project is currently in the research and discovery phase, leveraging technology originally developed at Scripps Research.
