Drug intelligence / Profile preview
RSV alphavaccine is an investigational vaccine candidate developed by AlphaVax for the prevention of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) infection. It utilizes a proprietary alphavirus replicon particle (VRP) technology derived from the Venezuelan Equine Encephalitis (VEE) virus. These VRPs are engineered to be replication-defective and serve as a delivery vehicle for RNA encoding RSV-specific antigens. By targeting dendritic cells in vivo, the vaccine induces high levels of antigen expression, triggering both potent T-cell mediated immunity and neutralizing antibody responses against the virus. The platform is designed to provide a robust immune response without the risk of viral propagation or disease associated with live-attenuated vaccines.
