RSV IMP 5

RSV IMP 5 is an investigational mRNA-based vaccine candidate developed by Sanofi for the prevention of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) infection. It is a specific formulation of Sanofi's monovalent RSV mRNA vaccine (SP0273), which encodes the RSV fusion (F) protein, typically in its prefusion conformation. The vaccine is designed to utilize mRNA technology to instruct host cells to produce the F protein, thereby inducing a robust immune response characterized by the production of neutralizing antibodies and the activation of T cells. RSV IMP 5 is currently being evaluated in a Phase 1 clinical trial (NCT06095245) to assess its safety and immunogenicity in healthy adults aged 18 to 49. This trial also investigates H5N1 influenza vaccine candidates, but RSV IMP 5 specifically targets RSV.
