Drug intelligence / Profile preview
The RSV inhaled powder vaccine is a preclinical-stage vaccine candidate developed by TechnoVax for the prevention of Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) infection. The vaccine utilizes TechnoVax's Virus-Like Particle (VLP) platform, which creates non-infectious particles that structurally mimic the native virus to stimulate an immune response without the risk of viral replication. A key feature of this candidate is its formulation as a dry powder for intrapulmonary delivery via inhalation. This approach is designed to induce mucosal immunity at the site of infection while offering advantages such as shelf-stability at room temperature and the potential for self-administration, bypassing the need for traditional cold chain logistics and needle-based injection. TechnoVax has partnered with a pulmonary drug delivery company to optimize the inhaled delivery format.
