RSV sF refers to the stabilized prefusion form of the fusion (F) glycoprotein from respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). This recombinant protein is engineered to maintain the antigenic structure of the F protein in its prefusion conformation, which is known to elicit potent neutralizing antibody responses. The RSV sF antigen is a key component in several investigational and approved vaccines and monoclonal antibody therapies targeting prevention of RSV infection, particularly in infants and older adults. The mechanism of action involves inducing or providing antibodies that target the F protein on the surface of RSV, thereby preventing viral entry into host cells.
