RSV vaccine is a preclinical **virus-like particle vaccine** developed by VLP BioTech in collaboration with MedImmune for prevention of respiratory syncytial virus infection. The candidate uses a **woodchuck hepatitis virus core antigen scaffold** to display the palivizumab epitope from the RSV fusion protein, specifically a 24-amino acid helix-loop-helix region corresponding to F254-277, in a highly multivalent format with about 240 copies per particle. This epitope-focused vaccine is intended to induce protective neutralizing antibodies against RSV, and published rodent studies reported high neutralizing antibody titers with greater than 99% reduction in viral titers. The program was described as preclinical and associated with an NIH Phase I SBIR award, which reflects grant support rather than a human clinical trial phase.
