Drug intelligence / Profile preview
RSV vaccine is a preclinical peptide-based vaccine candidate developed by Youfeng Biotechnology for the prevention of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) infection. The vaccine utilizes the proprietary Ii-Key technology platform, which involves a hybrid peptide consisting of an RSV-specific epitope linked to a four-amino acid 'Ii-Key' sequence (LRMK) derived from the MHC class II-associated invariant chain (CD74). This modification is designed to enhance the vaccine's immunogenicity by facilitating the direct charging of MHC class II molecules on the surface of antigen-presenting cells. By bypassing the standard intracellular endosomal processing pathway, the Ii-Key technology aims to potently activate CD4+ T-helper cells, which in turn coordinate a robust and protective immune response against RSV antigens.
