RT-1000

RT-1000 is an investigational oral small molecule agonist of the glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor (GLP-1R) being developed by RenaissThera. It is designed for the treatment of metabolic disorders, specifically type 2 diabetes mellitus and obesity. As a non-peptide small molecule, RT-1000 is engineered to mimic the physiological effects of the incretin hormone GLP-1, which includes stimulating glucose-dependent insulin secretion, suppressing glucagon release, and slowing gastric emptying. This mechanism helps to improve glycemic control and promote weight loss by increasing satiety. Unlike traditional GLP-1 therapies that are typically administered via subcutaneous injection, RT-1000 is intended for oral administration, potentially improving patient adherence and accessibility. It is currently being evaluated in Phase 2 clinical trials.
