Overview

RT-202 is a preclinical-stage chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy being developed by Royaltechmed for the treatment of acute myeloid leukaemia (AML). The therapy is designed to target C-type lectin-like molecule-1 (CLL-1, also known as CLEC12A), a type II transmembrane glycoprotein that is highly expressed on the surface of AML blasts and leukemic stem cells (LSCs) but is minimally expressed on normal hematopoietic stem cells. By specifically targeting CLL-1, RT-202 aims to induce the selective lysis of malignant cells while sparing healthy bone marrow progenitors, potentially offering a more targeted approach to treating AML and preventing disease relapse. The program is currently in the preclinical phase of development.
