Drug intelligence / Profile preview
RT-3000 is an investigational oral small molecule agonist of the Gastric Inhibitory Polypeptide Receptor (GIPR), currently being developed by RenaissThera for the treatment of obesity. As part of a pipeline of oral incretin mimetics, RT-3000 is designed to provide a potent, orally bioavailable alternative to injectable peptide-based therapies. By activating the GIP receptor, the drug aims to leverage the metabolic benefits of GIP signaling, which includes the regulation of energy homeostasis, lipid metabolism, and insulin sensitivity. RT-3000 is currently in Phase 2 clinical development, targeting significant weight reduction and improved metabolic health in patients with obesity.
