RTC 4001 is a preclinical small molecule prodrug developed by Ripple Therapeutics for the treatment of dry age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and geographic atrophy (GA). It functions as a lipid modulator, targeting the lipid pathway to address the metabolic dysregulation associated with retinal degeneration. RTC 4001 is delivered via intravitreal injection and utilizes Ripple's proprietary Epidel® platform, which consists of engineered prodrugs that form solid implants without the need for polymer excipients.
