RTGel

RTGel is a proprietary, reverse-thermal hydrogel technology developed by UroGen Pharma for the sustained local delivery of drugs within the urinary tract. The hydrogel is characterized by its thermosensitive properties, existing as a chilled liquid during administration and transitioning into a semi-solid gel state upon reaching body temperature. This phase transition allows the gel to conform to the anatomy of the renal pelvis or bladder and resist being immediately washed away by urine flow. As the gel gradually dissolves, it provides a continuous and prolonged release of the encapsulated therapeutic agent, such as mitomycin C, thereby increasing the dwell time and efficacy of the treatment. It is the foundational technology for the FDA-approved drug Jelmyto (UGN-101) and the investigational candidate UGN-102.
