Drug intelligence / Profile preview
RTI-Hematopoietic is a preclinical mRNA-based therapeutic being developed by Rejuvenation Technologies for the treatment of bone marrow failure and cytopenia. The therapy utilizes modified mRNA encoding telomerase reverse transcriptase (TERT) encapsulated within proprietary lipid nanoparticles (LNPs). By delivering TERT mRNA to hematopoietic stem cells, the drug aims to transiently activate the telomerase enzyme, thereby extending telomeres and restoring the regenerative capacity of the bone marrow. This approach is intended to treat conditions characterized by telomere shortening, such as dyskeratosis congenita and other forms of aplastic anemia, by reversing cellular senescence in the hematopoietic compartment.
