Overview

RU84687 is an experimental small molecule compound that functions as a subnanomolar and selective binder to the SH2 domain of the Src proto-oncogene tyrosine-protein kinase. By mimicking phosphotyrosine, it inhibits the protein-protein interactions mediated by the Src SH2 domain, thereby blocking Src-dependent signaling pathways. Chemically, it is a phosphonotyrosinamide derivative with the formula C31H34N3O8P. While it is a potent tool for biochemical research into tyrosine kinase signaling, RU84687 has no recorded history of clinical development or therapeutic use in humans.
