Ruanshang Xiji is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) topical liquid preparation primarily used for the treatment of acute and chronic soft tissue injuries, including sprains, contusions, and localized swelling. It is most notably recognized as a signature in-hospital preparation (医院制剂) developed by the Beijing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The formulation typically consists of a decoction or extract of multiple blood-invigorating and stasis-resolving herbs such as *Carthamus tinctorius* (Safflower), *Angelica sinensis*, *Boswellia carterii* (Frankincense), and *Commiphora myrrha* (Myrrh). These components work synergistically to promote local blood circulation, resolve blood stasis, reduce inflammation, and alleviate pain. It is applied externally to the affected area as a wash, soak, or wet compress.
