Rubavax-M is a live, attenuated combination vaccine developed and marketed by Incepta Vaccines for the prevention of measles and rubella. It contains the Long-47 strain of the measles virus (grown in chicken embryo cell cultures) and the RA27/3 strain of the rubella virus (grown in human diploid cells). The vaccine is indicated for active immunization in individuals older than 8 months to induce protective immunity against both measles (rubeola) and rubella (German measles). It is administered as a single 0.5 ml dose via deep subcutaneous injection and is a key component of the immunization program in Bangladesh.
