Overview
Ruifukang (BmrhGM-CSF) is an orally administered recombinant human granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor (rhGM-CSF) expressed using a silkworm pupae (*Bombyx mori*) bioreactor system. Developed by Zhejiang Chinagene Biopharmaceutical in collaboration with Zhejiang University and Zhejiang Sci-Tech University, Ruifukang is designed to stimulate the production of white blood cells in patients with chemotherapy- or radiotherapy-induced leukopenia. Unlike traditional rhGM-CSF formulations that require subcutaneous or intravenous injection, Ruifukang is formulated as an oral capsule, utilizing the natural protective environment of the silkworm pupae bioreactor to facilitate absorption through the intestinal tract. It has been evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials in China.
