Drug intelligence / Profile preview
RuL2 is a ruthenium complex synthesized with an α-amino acid, l-alanine, and 2,3-dihydroxybenzaldehyde derived Schiff base. It has demonstrated significant binding towards human serum albumin (HSA) and exhibits concentration-dependent cytotoxicity in human hepatocellular carcinoma (HepG2) cell lines. Its cytotoxic effects are mediated via protein binding and the generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS).
