rumex altissimus pollen extract

Rumex altissimus pollen extract is a biological allergen extract derived from the pollen of the Pale Dock plant. It is indicated for use in the diagnosis of Pale Dock pollen allergy via skin testing and for the treatment of allergic rhinitis, allergic conjunctivitis, and seasonal asthma through allergen immunotherapy (hyposensitization). The extract contains various proteins that act as allergens; when administered in gradually increasing doses, it induces a state of clinical tolerance. This is achieved by shifting the immune response from a Th2-mediated allergic pathway to a Th1/Treg-mediated pathway, resulting in the production of allergen-specific IgG4 antibodies that block IgE-mediated mast cell and basophil activation.
